prompt: like pulling teeth (courtesy of daily_prompt)

11-year-old Jake stared intently at the paper, fangs angrily biting at his lip, almost drawing blood. It shouldn't have been so hard. The teacher had already explained it ten times.
But math was not his forte.
Okay, so many things werent. 15-year-old Jake clenched his fists until circulation fled for fear of further torment, wondering why he couldn't rule the way he wanted to. Life wasn't fair. It wasn't supposed to be, but why was living each day like pulling teeth?
Which brought him here. Fire and ice and wind and rain and a mouthful of molars and bicuspids later, 19-year-old Jake and his latest non-forte stood before each other, tears in at least one set of blue eyes.
"I don't get you," Jake said, frustrated. "You said you loved me."
Sora just closed his eyes.
